Dr. Lewis is the founder of Ophthalmic Surgeons & Physicians LTD. He has been in practice in Arizona since 1974. He served as the Chief of Ophthalmology at Desert Samaritan Hospital for 4 years and Vice Chairman for 3 years. He also served as the official Consultant in Ophthalmology for Williams Air Force Base from 1976 - 1982. He has published articles on Laser treatment in the field of Cataracts and Glaucoma. He has also appeared on several one-hour talk shows with host Michael Dixon aired in Phoenix and St. Louis. Dr. Lewis is board certified and is presently a member of the Arizona Ophthalmology Society, Maricopa County Medical Society, Arizona Medical Society, American Academy of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. Dr. Lewis was selected President of the Phoenix Ophthalmological Society in the 1996 - 1997 year. He was also a clinical lecturer at the University of Arizona Medical School from 1990-2002, and has taught many courses in cataract surgery to other ophthalmologists throughout the world. Dr. Lewis founded the practice 35 years ago. |
Bertram T. Matsumoto, M.D. |

Dr. Matsumoto is a graduate of Stanford University with Honors. He received his M.D. degree from Washington University in St. Louis where he was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He was given an award for Outstanding Resident during his residency in ophthalmology at Washington University. Dr. Matsumoto served as Director at the Barnes Eye Clinic and University Eye Services after completing his residency. Dr. Matsumoto is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Medical Association. His special interests are cataract, glaucoma, and diabetic eye diseases. Dr. Matsumoto joined the practice in July of 1996. |
Lisa A. Mansueto, M.D. |

Dr. Mansueto is a graduate of Northwestern University with Honors. She received her M.D. degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, and then completed an ophthalmology residency at the University of Arizona in Tucson. After residency, she went to Boston and completed an ASOPRS approved fellowship in ophthalmic plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery at a combined program involving Tufts University, Harvard University, and Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston. When Dr. Mansueto joined our practice, she added a new dimension to the services we offer with her expertise in ophthalmic plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery. She provides medical and surgical care for both adults and children with eye, eyelid, lacrimal (tear duct), and orbital diseases. She also offers consultation and surgery for aesthetic (cosmetic) purposes. Dr. Mansueto is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. She is a fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, American Academy of Ophthalmology, Arizona Medical Association, Phoenix Ophthalmological Society, and the Arizona Ophthalmology Society. Dr. Mansueto is also a clinical lecturer in the department of ophthalmology at the University of Arizona. Dr. Mansueto provides clinical consultation for patients in both the Tempe and Ahwatukee offices. Dr. Mansueto joined the practice in August of 1999. Dr. Hylton is a fellowship trained glaucoma specialist. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. She was awarded for her outstanding academic achievement and original biomedical research at the Yale University School of Medicine where she received her M.D. Dr. Hylton completed her ophthalmology residency at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute in Baltimore. After residency, she completed a fellowship in glaucoma at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami. Subsequently, she joined the faculty at the Emory University Department of Ophthalmology where she was actively involved in the training of residents and fellows. Dr. Hylton is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Hylton joined the practice in February of 2008. |
Jon A. Konti, M.D. |

Dr. Konti is a fellowship-trained corneal and refractive surgery specialist. He is a graduate of The Ohio State University with honors. He completed his medical training at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio, where he received his M.D. Dr. Konti completed his ophthalmology residency at University Hospitals/Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio. After residency, he completed a cornea and refractive surgery fellowship at the University of Texas, Southwestern in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Konti is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is board eligible and has passed the written examinations and will take his oral exams in June 2012. Dr. Konti’s special interests include cataract surgery with multifocal and toric lens implantation, refractive surgery (LASIK, PRK), corneal transplantation including advanced procedures such as DSEK (Descemet’s stripping endothelial keratoplasty/partial thickness corneal transplantation) and DALK (primarily for treating Keratoconus). |
